FAQ frequently asked questions about Integrative Medicine and PNI Consultations

Integrative or functional medicine focuses on finding the root cause of health problems. To achieve this, a combination of medical treatments may be used, including complementary therapies and lifestyle changes.

Integrative medicine evaluates the whole person: metabolism, microbiome, lifestyle, environment etc. Healing is not only about alleviating pain; it’s about understanding and treating the underlying cause to restore balance from within.

No! Your integrative medicine consultation does not replace the need for you to continue your required follow-up with your doctor. Moreover, positive changes will occur that may require adjustments to your usual medication, so it is important to continue attending your regular appointments with your doctor.

You will not normally require a referral from your GP, since you can book the appointment with the clinic directly yourself. However, referral letters may be required if patients have health insurance that requires one.

Following this first appointment you will have, included in the payment, three more weekly follow up appointments of 15 min each, to ensure all your questions are answered and your treatment can start without delay.

For follow-up appointments, if required, the duration is typically around 45 minutes.

No, although I may need to contact your GP in cases where it is required.

Any treatment indicated will have medical and scientific evidence base. The range of treatments will depend on the problem and the individual circumstances of the patient. Treatments may include supplements, herbal remedies, lifestyle or dietary changes, manual therapies etc.
