How we work
at 3H Clinic
Our approach examines how your body's systems interact to identify the root causes of your health issues.
Examining Your Body's Systems to Find Root Causes
Digestive system
The gut is a primary gateway to our body, both for nutrients and pathogens. Keeping the gut healthy is therefore crucial for preventing various conditions.
In our consultation, we will examine aspects such as the movement and rhythm of your gut, enzyme production, the health of your gut microorganisms, and whether low grade inflammation is present or not. We will also review your oral health, assess your diet and eating habits, and explore their relationship with other systems, as well as any potential symptoms such as constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, heartburn, indigestion and more. Everything is connected: what and when you eat can influence how you digest and absorb nutrients.
Nervous system
The brain and the peripheral nervous system coordinate communications with other major systems in the body, such as the immune system, the hormonal system, and the gut-brain axis. Symptoms such as insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, mental fatigue, difficulty concentrating, or memory loss demonstrate how poor nervous system health can impact our physical well-being.
During our consultation, we will assess which factors may be affecting your nervous system, with the goal of restoring its natural balance and enabling it to manage energy more effectively.
Immune system
A well balanced immune system is key to maintain health, or to regain health. Our immunity protects us from harmful microorganisms, releases substances (such as cytokines) which influence the brain and organs, responds to stress and also regulates it, modulates inflammation, and maintains the balance in our bodies. The chronic immune activation in one part of the body can limit the necessary response in another, leading to health issues. Immunity is heavily influenced by the nervous system, hormones, behavioural factors such as stress or depression, and lifestyle habits like sleep, diet, and exercise.
In the consultation, we will assess the presence of factors that may persistently activate your immune system, or those that may trigger the opposite of what is expected. A good balance between inflammation and de-inflammation is essential for maintaining good health.
Endocrine/metabolic system
The distribution of energy in our bodies requires adequate regulation and secretion of hormones, neurotransmitters, and metabolites. Imbalances in this system can be at the root of many chronic issues, such as insulin resistance, chronic fatigue, irritability due to hormonal dysregulation, obesity, endometriosis, premenstrual syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility, low libido, hypertension, and imbalances in the thyroid or cholesterol levels.
During the consultation, we will take an integrated approach and provide guidance to promote balance within these systems, focusing on addressing the root cause rather than just the symptom it has created.
